Time

Each appointment will take between 30-45 minutes depending on whether it is an initial assessment or follow up treatment.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring along any doctors/health professional letters, as well as any x-ray, CT scan or MRI reports that you may have. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen anyone about your hand condition, MHT is experienced in conducting an initial assessment and diagnosis. You can be referred on for further tests and assessment if needs be.

Equipment/splint

If patients have been assessed to require a customised splint or support, they can expect to have it made and be able to take home on the day they have been assessed for it.

Cost

The Hand therapy consultation is €65

Customised splints range from €15 to €100

Non customised splints/supports start from €20

Does my insurance fund cover the consultation?

Most insurance companies offer a rebate on an Occupational Therapy consultation of at least 50% of the fee for up to 5 visits. Check with your individual policy for details

Payment

There is no card facility at the clinic. Midlands Hand therapy can only accept cash or cheque,
